Yes ive seen this discussion on the Pets Forum. Its peoples way of making the babies sound better then they are i suppose

BTW just because there are merles in the background doesn't make a puppy a merle. In order for a puppy to be a merle it has to have a merle parent. If neither parent is a merle none of the puppies will be merle even if a grandparent may have been a merle.

NO Merles cannot be registered, they are BANNED in UK.

Ok I understand, I knew in some countries they are banned. In that case I totally understand wanting to know what is in the pedigree. Well really no matter what you should look at the pedigree before buying a dog, especially a show dog.

I saw that one too - I think she thought that only blue merles can't be registered when in fact it is ALL merles. There have been a number of puppies registered under incorrect colours - stupidtity of it all is they advertise them on epupz WITH a photo showing they are merles!!!!

But you can have a cryptic merle (hidden merle) which means it is a merle but you can't always see it when it grows up.
