Abby wants nothing to do with the other dogs in the house at all. She is just not that happy here. I don't think she has ever had dog food before. She eats it because that's all she gets, but whenever anyone is in the kitchen cooking or eating, she is practically doing handstands trying to get them to give her some human food. I actually caught her in my daughter's lap one lunch, trying to eat the food off the spoon. Her teeth are horrendous for being only 18 months old. If I keep her in the dog room and she is not on my lap, she stands by the gate and cries constantly. If she is let through the gate, she is on on of my daughters' lap. I don't know if I should just get her fixed and find her a new home where she could be the only dog or maybe with one other dog or keep trying to intergrate her into the pack. She is a great dog, completely house trained, crate trained, sweet natured, loves to play one on one with me. She just doesn't want to be part of the pack at all.

I have forgotten when you got this little one? Maybe a month or two might do it, but you know best. If you get her spayed and rehomed, you'd be a regular saint! Good luck. Sue

I've had her only three weeks and a week and a half of that she was in a crate, finishing up being in heat. But I have never had a dog more disinterested in any other dog. It's like they are invisible to her. lol

I don't know the whole story sorry but from what I've read here you've hardly given her any time at all.

My Tillie came to mme unwanted at an older age and took I would say a good 8 months to fully settle down and settle into the family. She wasn't interested in my other two or anyone for that matter. She also came to me and was in heat very soon after.

Now after time and love she's a wonderful loving little dog and I have to admit my favourite!!!

I haven't put all the problems I had with Tillie at first here but she too went crazy for human food, she would wet herself if I so much as looked at her, would snap if Lola tried to come near. This has all stopped. She was just a frightened little dog

Your right, Marie. I tell people the same thing then I guess I forgot when it came to my dog. I willl give her more time. She does not seem scared, just self contained.

Gracie goes through these stages where she thinks she's just 'above it all' as far as the boys go...She becomes really stand-offish when she does this. It's as if she's looking at me like she's saying "Mom, I really wanted to be an only dog - these boys are just too much!"

I bet she'll come around, but she may always be a little different. And it sounds as if she's already really attached to you and your daughter!
