Default Silly question. I've never claimed how does Pet Insurance work?

I have pet insurance and haven't had to use it yet thank god. Lola had problems with an infection on her vulva which she went to the vet for. It seemed to clear up with the cream. That visit cost £40. My excess is £70. Now a month later she's at it again and I think it's back or wasn't cleared up in the first place.

How does insurance work if you have to keep going back for a problem?

As far as I am aware, your excess is per treatment regardless of whether it was a previous or ongoing problem.
You always have to pay if it is under the excess
but if you pay more than your excess for the treatment in one go, lets say you pay £100, then they would give back £30 and you would have to pay the excess of £70

We have the cat insured she has had ibd for 8 years you have a certain amount you can claim per year ours is £1000.Hers is ongoing so every claim we put in every couple of months if it,s for an ongoing medical condition they take the £50 or £70pounds,and they pay all the rest of the medical condition, ours even pay back a quarter of the special food as well.hope I've explained it ok
