Default Wow. I'm impressed

I tried the Thundershirt on Chumley again tonight. I put it on him, then went into the kitchen to cook up some meat. Usually he paces by the gate out of the dog room and screams and whines and barks until I come back. Today, he went and laid down on the couch. The entire time I was cooking. Its a miracle. I was wondering if I would be able to keep him, he made so much noise and we have a baby here. But if this works, I should be able to keep him, no problem.

Chumley laying there so pretty. I took this standing in the kitchen. He usually never leaves the gate.

That's so good to know...Diesel shows early signs of seperation anxiety. I can walk into the other room, and even though the other dogs are with him, he will sit and howl until I stick my head back around the corner and invite him to come with me. We keep a gate at the bottom of the stairs - the upstairs belongs to the cat during the day, and when I go upstairs, he does the 'sit and howl' thing at the bottom.

I might have a problem finding one to fit him, though...Most XXS clothing falls off of him!

I guess it's like swaddling a baby, huh?

Lulu does not like clothes. Do you think that matters? I guess I have a pic in my head that it's not going to work because it's like clothes and when I put clothes on her she usually just stands still until I take them off except for the last 2 sweaters I bought her. She will wear them and walk around normally but she's not fond of them. I would love to try it. I don't know how to describe what Lulu does--we just say she has issues. It's nothing major I just get the feeling she would be much happier if dog could have an anti depressant. She wasn't that way until this past June when my Mom's Maltese that she has been around since she came here at 9 weeks old died (and she's now 4yrs), then we went on vacation--different, then we switched houses, also my husband and I go spend one night a week with my mother-in-law since my father-in-law died this past January and take Lulu with us (she STILL has not made friends with my mother-in-law). She is very attached to me but loves everyone in our household, but when I go to leave the house even to take out the trash she will bark and bark for me. Didn't mean to write a book I guess I just want someone's thoughts on if they think I need to try the Thundershirt--she's not always nuts--this may just be adult dogs that have not been socialized properly.

That is fantastic! I am so glad it is working and that you shared the success! I have one lil guy who freaks during fireworks. This might be worth exploring

All I can say is try it everyone. I guess it is on the same lines as swaddling. I actually had to take it off him so he would play. When I was done cooking, he just laid in a bed, curled up. As soon as I took it off, he was playing with the young dogs again. I hope this doesn't get over used by people (not you people here) and left on when it's not needed. I just want to be able to leave the dog room and do my household chores without a few of them screaming the entire time.

Diesel may just need an invitation because he knows he is not supposed to be past the gate yet. If I open the gate to the dog room, I have a few that will not leave the room unless I tell them it's OK because they know the "rules". The measurements for xxs are: XXS 9"-13.5" < 7 lbs. I have the xs and it fits very nice. They are very adjustable. I just put it on my one that hates clothes, she is tolerating it quite well. I would try it a few times, the first time I put it on Chumley, he was already excited and it didnt work. So the next time, I waited until he was calm, then applied it, waited 5 minutes, then left the room. He did soooo well.
