Smile made Dexter's Neuterin Appointment...

so many of u i know saw on my status on FB about my appt date...
but for those who didn't

its:
February 7 (coming Tuesday) dropoff time from 8:30 am - 9:30 am
pickup time is around 3/4 p.m or even before 7pm dependin on how many patients are in since the order is random...
had a long talk with the receptionist and she estimated the total to be around $800
yes i've researched and searched and searched for a lower costin place but when i tried callin a couple places...they weren't answerin. i wanted to get this done as soon as possible before i change my mind LOL~ i hate bein anxious...it gets to me physically~

in a way i do feel comfy with this vet as everythin was explained thoroughly.

dex is outdated on shots
walk in fee = $70
distemper, bordatella, rabies, influenza = $300 or less
Neutering = $191.95
Laser Surgery = $76.78
anathesia fluids and reversal = dependin on weight and amount needed
pain killer meds = ?
e-collar = $9

i already had the profile done last visit so atleast i save myself $100 LOL

wish me luck...

I was wondering if you were going to get him done as you are getting a new little girl. That is quite expensive, I go through the SPCA and get a $20 off coupon from them and my boys neutering complete with rabies shot is only $74. I wouldn't get all the shots, just the rabies, myself. And even when they got all their shots, it's only $79. I've never done the laser surgery, what's the advantage? The place I go to doesn't offer it so I never researched it. He will do well, you will be so happy once its done and then maybe get him to stop marking. Best of luck, sweetie.

My male cat acted like nothing had happened after I had him neutered. I'm really hoping Bandit takes it as easily. He will go in next month.

Oh and I meant to say that I think this is a good idea. And I am sure Dexter will be just fine.

$800???? WHAT??

I got BOTH Hope and Ruby spayed and microchipped for $325 at a private vet, no coupons, vouchers, etc.

They got their rabies a few months after spay so I did pay separate for that, but no where near this amount.

Is this typical for your area?

the Shots should be no more than $50.00 even that is high, that is with office visit. I just don't understand why so much. He is robbing you blind. I am getting Amber done at a big university like I said on FB and it 1k to 2 k because of her problem. But they think it will only be 1k,and that with reconstructive surgery.

Good luck, Dexter! I can't say anything about the price, because Odie's spay cost approx. $500. We do have an SPCA clinic here, that is basically a vet office only doing spays/neuters. I decided against it, because she also needed an umbilical hernia removed, and I wanted her to be with people that knew her entire history. Anything for our dogs!
