Unhappy so stressed! -_- (vet update)

why oh why...?? its like dexter isnt supposed to get fixed or sumthin...

today i get a call while i happily nappin since i only got 4 hours of sleep...so it was the vet's number ok...maybe they wanted to remind me of the appt...NOPE...

it was the actual hippy vet i have and she told me that Dexter needs a new blood sample done because it was too "high" for the anathesia. ok that makes sense...but what doesnt make sense is that she told the bf last time that it was "mild" so how can sumthin so mild be too high for an anathesia? ALSO...she even said if i bring him in that mornin they can check and if its too high and then he cant get it done..but last time it took the next day for the results...so ummmm?!?!?!?!! eff my fluffin life....

im findin a new vet. i cant stand people who change their words around

I'd get another opinion. Ask around and find a vet that is getting good reviews. Then make an appointment and tell them about the liver enzymes being high. They will draw blood again. Usually it takes a day to get the results back. Then ask them to explain it to you and see if they recommend a bile acid test (which further investigates liver function). Then you will know what you are really dealing with!! Just saying the liver results are elevated is NOT helpful! You need to know what you are dealing with!

In the meantime, start him on milk thistle. It supports the liver. You can buy a dog product or just get the stuff for people. Dr. Dodds recommends starting out at 200mg per 10 pounds.

MILK THISTLE

Maybe they sent the sample out to an independent lab? But they also have an in-house lab they can use? I don't know. That seems squirrely. See if you can find some good reviews on vets. Surely there would be some good ones there?

aww, sorry you are feeling so stressed. , i dont think the call was a sign that you werent supposed to get Dexter fixed, but a sign that you were supposed to go to a different vet! ( one that doesnt charge so much ) i hope you can find a good one !
