Default Chi laying on floor and staring at you...what does it mean?

I adopted/rescued a very skittish 5yo coming girl who is always acting scared (see my other thread re Skye).

I have been following everyones advice and mainly ignoring her, and every now and again she will come out her igloo bed, lay on the mat in front of me, paws stretched out and just stare at me...before then going back to her bed.

What does this mean?

In my opinion, it just appears that she's coming to check you out. Sometimes my lil boy Diamond just looks at me watches me. In the begin he just watched and now he follows me everywhere. Her coming out and playing attention to you just seems like a step in the right direction.

Do you, or your wife, have any experience with dogs before Skye?
