Furminators, whilst viciously expensive, are a wonderful brush on long haired's coats, I wonder if they're as effective on short coats.

It's an unfortunate fact of Chi life that the short haired's seem to lose hair year round, whilst l/c's only drop theirs seasonally. L/h's are also much easier to remove with those velvet brushes, rollers & such, whereas the short coarse hair tends to stick into everything.

So I finally bought the furminator, I waited for it to go on sale, though not by much, and you were all right! Its the first brush I've tried that actually works - surprisingly well too!! Here's hoping my yoga parts reap the rewards Thor loves it too, so its win win. Thanks all <3

Jaxx is a shedder! If I don't brush him every day I have hair all over me on the second day. I have been looking at the Furminator for a while and wondering if it would make a difference. I am hoping that switching to Ziwipeak will make a difference although he was on Orijen for a while before we switched to ZP and it didn't seem to make any difference.

Currently I use the Zoom Groom by Kong for brushing him and it does get a lot the dead hair out although since his hair is so short I end up with the hair on me after brushing him instead of in the brush. I just wish if I skipped a day everything wasn't covered in hair.

Rolosmummy; ziwipeak is a dehydrated/raw dog food brand. And lulus are lulu lemon pants, an amazing brand of yoga pants, originating from Canada, that can now be found around the globe and will be the comfiest pants you will ever own! I highly recommend getting a pair!

Also intenttosmile do you have pets smart in the US? That's where I got the brush, and even with Thor's short double coat, I can say after only one use it pales in comparison to all other brushes I have tried - well worth the stupid price. Additionally it looks like it will last a lifetime

We have PetSmart actually that is the only pet store we have in our town. I have been looking at them there and on Amazon a lot. Amazon is A LOT cheaper.

I think I am going to just bite the bullet and buy one. If it works it will save me doing so much laundry if nothing else since after I brush Jaxx every day I have to change my clothes because of all the hair.

Ziwipeak (and raw) made a difference on Star's hair, she barely sheds except for the last month or so, which she shed a lot...maybe changing puppy hair or seasonal shed (?), because I just noticed she stopped shedding again as I typing this post. I also have a furminator from my pug that passed away. I can brush a pug all day and still get tons on hair on me since pugs shed a ton. A lot of people that owns pugs uses the furminator and the groom zoom and they love it. I can tell you it gets a lot of hair out with Star when she was shedding but she still had a lot of hair on me like after a few hours. I can't win with her with any kind of shirt color since she's back and white and tad bit of tan. I still end up with a lot of hair on me when I brush her with the furminator, and use the lint roller afterwards.
