I bought a bark stopper ultrasonic thing and it worked great on the neighbors barky dogs. You might want to try one of those, but don't get the super cheapy ones as they don't work.

I would play some soft soothing music for him which will help drowned out any outside noises that may be causing him to bark.

I've read mix reviews about the bark stopper but I guess it depends on the dog. We are willing to try anything. My main concern is that it's stressing arnie out being left alone. I tried a different set up today, confined him to the kitchen with his blankets, favourite toys and a kong. I pulled te blinds on the kitchen as well to see if that makes a difference as I read about blocking external sounds and light. He already has the radio left on xx

Each of of ours has their own soft sided crate they go in when we leave the house. Inside is their bed, a blanket & their favorite toy. They feel safe & are happy & sometimes just want to go in to get some alone time. I would try a crate to see if that helps. We also leave the tv on a quiet channel so they can hear voices while we are gone. I'm sure they bark if someone comes to the door but they don't bark non-stop. Hope this helps!

When my sister got here today to said that there was pee all over the kitchen floor but no barking when she arrived. The video shows him jumping for the first half an hour and crying trying to get out but then he settles down. Is the peeing an adjustment to the new space? I really need to video all of his time alone! His temperament is the same so there's no differnece in how he is behaving after having the run off the downstairs compared with being confined to the kitchen however his peeing round the house is much worse tonight that yesterday!

The first step in solving such behavior is to investigate the root cause of dog barking. It could be because of several reasons or factors like as your dog getting excited, getting frightened, agitated on seeing a stranger, or wanting your attention all the time. Then you could start your training by commanding your dog to Be Quiet or Stop when it begins barking without any reason. You can also offer it a treat when it stops barking, and you should repeat this procedure whenever it barks excessively and your dog will understand soon enough.

my meeko used to bark the WHOLE time i was gone, untill i got yoda, now he doesnt, he used to get seperation anxiety, now as long as yoda is there he is ok. i had tried alot of different things and nothing had worked. good luck, it might just be seperation anxiety.

Our trainer said he is massively under socialised so we are going to work on this after his castration. It's been difficult breaking the previous owners bad habits! He seems fine on his own with my MIL's two dogs. Maybe another dog is the answer?! Not too sure the OH will think this is a good idea hahaha. Thanks everyone xx
