So, it's been two and a half weeks since we brought Willow home. You wouldn't know it had been such a short time from the way she's settled in with us and in our home. She's certainly bonded to us well. We don't have any more noise during the night. She goes right into her crate without any noise and sometimes it's hard to get her out of there! Her toilet training seems to have back tracked a bit...she used to do about 70% on the mat but she's doing a lot less now. Might be because she wees and poos so little that she's done before you can catch her and correct her.

Her and Mylo are getting on well. They mostly play nicely and quietly. If they get their zoomies they chase each other around and she is very noisy or such a little thing! They've even started snuggling up together. Since I gave Mylo the time out the other day he hasn't really tried to hump her again, although I am still looking into getting him neutered soon. The only arguments they have is between their chews. Even though there's two of everything the other one always wants what the other has. Most of the time it works out fine because they both steal each other's at the same time and everyone's happy. If not the other growls and most of the time they back off. But I kind of expect them to argue over treats. All in all I think things are going well.

I do need to find more time for training though. I've done a few sessions of sit but she was finding it hard to get it and Mylo kept getting in the way. I think I'll have to get Rich to work on 'drop it' with Mylo while I train Willow, but there's not much time when we're both home together. Must be more proactive with training! I also want to start working on recall with both of them. 1 week and 1 day until Willow can go out and walk! Will have to sort out a harness. Now I'm just thinking aloud so I'll go. tis good to see them gettin along.... I know when I brought Kody home, Chico would growl, hackles raised.... but now they are like brothers... they don't snuggle to sleep but each has there own bed.... toys and chewies are another thing

I am like you, I need to spend more time on training. They both know sit & down and Chico also knows 'Spin' & and 'BANG'.... Kody just doesn't have the attention span to learn fast like Chico

Yay what a difference two weeks can make, it sounds as if your household has settled into a nice routine, a far cry from those few first days when you were thinking oh poo what have we done ! Mylo and Willow will be great friends and always have each other for company which in turn will make your life easier. I never feel guilty anymore if we have to leave them alone for a little while as they just snuggle up together. Mine still have the occasional argument and its also usually about chews. So glad things are going well for you. X

Mylo knows sit, down, give paw, roll over and leave it (but only a treat if he knows he's going to get another one!) and he goes through these one by one if we won't give him what he wants! It's just so hard to train Willow with Mylo around. I love the 'bang' trick. I'll have to teach that!

That sounds confusing. I tried to teach her sit with Mylo the other day. I got Mylo to sit and gave him the treat but then she took so long to get it that he got fed up and tried to get her treat!

So glad they are getting along now and that she has stopped whining at night! You must be relieved that they are friends now

i found gizmo was doing great with pad training then she was making lots of messes now she is at 95% . good luck with willow.
