I have had a few people call Jaxx a rat I usually just shrug it off to the person being ignorant or having had a previous bad experience with a chi.
I had a guy who lives at our apartments ask me if I knew I was walking a rat I just smiled and walked on. Then he asked if I wanted some rat poison for him. I kept walking but it bugged me because I know dogs get poisoned all the time.
Most people love Jaxx though so I just shrug off the ones that call him a rat.
I had people say that about my old Chi but it was just in a joking manner so it never bothered me. No one says that about Gemma, but she has been called a mouse mistakenly by a little boy, lol. He actually thought she was a mouse. :P I joke around that Gemma is just a big mouse with people who are just meeting her or when we're introducing her to someone's much larger dog, but I know she's all dog at heart.
The only person who calls my dog a rat is my best friend from high school. My senior year I adopted Kai, she thought I was totally nuts. She doesn't really like chihuahuas. Any way a year after we graduated she adopted a corgi, I told her to research the breed and breeder before she adopted him. The breeder was a very suspicious man. He didn't even allow us to meet the parents and had us drive to McDonalds to pick him up. The corgi is one of the worst behaved dog I personally know. Now ever time she calls Kai a rat I just tell her least she's trained. She then argues that I trained the personality out of her. It does upset me though.
Yeah I get told Prince is a rat all the time. Point is everyone likes different types of dogs, some individuals just cant keep their opinions to themselves. So I just shrug it off.
