Dogs are hard work
After breakfast, I did about an hour of office work had a coffee and then thought Id better hoover the suite in the tv room as there was so much dog hair on it, so hoovered the couches, the floor and then the kitchen floor decided as the floors were now dust /hair free, I would steam clean them.
Lovely weather today so perfect day for good long dog walk up the hill during which Biggles found a great mound of poop to roll in thankfully the other two were on leashes so they didnt get to it Poppy And Bruno are great fans of poop rolling, Biggles not so much but anyway today it was irresistable to him.
Brought the dogs home phew what a stink from Biggles so decided to shower him major job requiring three soapings dried him and brushed him. Then decided the other pair could do with a bath as well so washed, dried and brushed them. Washed the dog blankets and hung them out to dry.
So the floor of the kitchen is yet again covered in hair, muck and wet dog smell out comes the hoover again, out comes the steamer again. Up to the bathroom to disinfect the shower, and the utility room sink after dog showers/bath phew I just sat down and it is now 4pm just one hours officework done ......who says dogs arent work!!

I took Lulu to the groomer this morning. Now, we have to take Gidget to the groomer at least once a month--this is the nature of owning a Maltese. But lucky me, our groomer especially LOVES chihuahuas are owns 2 of her own. She adores Lulu. I have gotten though to where I just take her for them to check her gland because I just don't know how to do it then I bring her back home to bathe her because I know she just doesn't want to stay. I beg them to let me pay the bath price, but they won't let me pay anything. The owner tells me to bring Lulu anytime and she will empty her gland for me and is glad to do it--Lulu is such a doll. Now it's bathtime and then I sit down and wrap her in a warm blanket and let her nap after such a trauma! LOL

Hard work for me today too! We have now had Prince for just over a month. Today was the first day we have had rain. Dear Lord he did not want to potty in the rain. I was in and out of the house four or five times in the rain and 39 degree weather before work. I usually don't mind dog duties but I was a bit frustrated about going in and out and in an out in such yucky weather. He finally did pee but the little guy held the poop all day. When I got home, the rain had stopped, he went outside and immediately pooped. Lady has gotten accustomed to going in the rain. Sure hope Prince does!

Aww Jane, they sure are hard work, but aren't they so worth it?!
I'm like you, every time the pups get baths I also clean the whole
house and wash all dog beds, blankets, etc. It just seems right...
clean house and clean dogs. I feel your pain about the rolling in
poop, it is one of Chanel's favorite pass times. Actually, anything
that is sticky or stinky, she will roll in, she just can't resist.

I only have Toby and he is hard work! I can only imagine having more than one. When I bathe Toby, the whole house gets cleaned. Vacuumed, mopped, linens changed, bathroom cleaned, laundry, etc. I usually have a "chore day" on the weekend when all of this gets done. Every six to eight weeks, Toby gets a bath on chore day. He's not a poop lover (thank goodness!). If he is stinky after a walk or play time, I use baby wipes to clean him up unless it is really bad to save me some work and to keep his skin from drying out.
I want another dog, eventually, but 2 dogs = 4 times the work! They encourage each other! LOL.
