Aw! Get well soon Bella! That's crazy that the whole nail ripped out, especially since they're short. Odie is the same way. She'll cry if one of the cats swipes at her and doesn't hurt her at all, but if she actually gets hurt, she's silent.
She usually stays out of the kitchen, but last night we were visiting my parents and my mom had gravy in a shaker and was shaking it and the lid came off and a spot of the gravy landed on Odie's head and burnt her. She didn't make a peep and had a huge red bump where she was burnt. She let me put some ice on it for a minute. So sad.
Chi's are so different. I had two that tore their nails out. One had to go to the vets, and got antibiotics and a bandage for a week (it was really ugly) and she let everyone within miles know she was hurt. The other one ripped a nail off, and I was at a dog camp. Vet tech came and bandaged it. During the night, she took off the bandage, cleaned it up, and I never heard a peep. I think she caught it, and ripped itoff in the crate when she jumped out.
Poor lil Bella...even though she was quite stoic, that must have hurt It's funny how some dogs are so good at hiding pain and then theres others that cry out at the drop of a pin! No names mentioned............... ( Zari )
