He is a year and a half. He has in the past made it through a 12 hour night when I crashed from a long week at work and could not be woken up.

He can definitely hold it. He is pottied before bed each night. Pee pads are not an acceptable spot for him and he does not use them. The ferrets potty on pads though.

If this is a new behavior, I would consider taking him to the vet for a visit and check for a UTI.

I used to have a chi that would pee in my bed at night. It turned out I think he was scared to jump in the dark. I just put a suitcase for him to jump on before the floor, and installed a night light in the hall, so it wasn't too bright but it wasn't super dark, and he did fine.

Zara has never peed in the bed she sleeps in a crate at night but she did pee on my sons shoulder once. He still naps on the couch with her but makes sure she goes outside first

Awh that stinks!! We invested in one of those covers that goes over the bed but under the sheets and it protects from any type of moisture seeping through just in case mine ever peed! And it works like a charm!! Hopefully it's the first and last time!!

He has done it one other time since then and it was also when he drank water before bed.

I think he struggles to hold it when excited if his bladder is really full.

Romeo has only ever done that once, it was the second day when the rest of the household were on holiday. I think it must have been because he was anxious ? but he's never done it since.
