Hi I have a 3 year old amazing chi called Pablo!
His chilled funny &loving & inow want to get him a buddy !!!
So his a male do I get another male? Or a girl? How's oi introduce him to him ?

I read that they get along better when you get two that are the opposite sex. I'm not super framiliar with Chihuahuas, but we've fostered many dogs and it's proven true with them.
With our fosters, when bringing a new dog into the home, we were told to do this: Put your current dog in another room and close the door. Let the new dog get comfortable in the livingroom and get used to the current dogs scent. After an hour or two, put the new dog in the bathroom so you can bring your current dog into the livingroom, and put the new dog from the bathroom into the bedroom. You do it that way so you can switch them without them seeing eachother. They'll get used to eachother scents, then you can introduce them.
So we did that the first time but found that it's just the same to just bring the new dog in and let them meet as soon as you bring him/her home. All dogs are different though, I'm sure someone else knows alot more on that subject than I do.

Haloo ,congrats on looking! My Dexter is a 4 year old male and was not very social to dogs at all, he prefers cats lol. When I got KC my 6 month old female chi now....got her when she was,around 9 weeks old or so. She was put in a playpen and locked in when I was gone from home. Dex took a couple months to actually accept her into the house. But even before this he came with me to pick KC up so he got to sniff her outside hiw own territory. They are beat friends,now which I love to watch them everyday. They play fight like crazy and argue lol. Ull have so much fun! Breeders tend to say opposites are better and I agree they are totally different from each other. KC was more social twds chis and humans but dex is less twds humans unless were out of the house and now finally he's wantin to sniff more dogs outaide
