Did you have boosters and a rabies done at the same appointment?

Yeah!!! They did both which I thought was weird cause before this they had only gave him the Benadryl and just the normal shots. I asked if that was too much at one time and she said he would be fine. He is back to himself now
I still felt Leary after asking but the vet I go to is a Chi specific vet so I guess she knows what she is doing ?

What is a chi specific vet? I've never heard of a vet that specializes in a specific breed of dog before.

Ashley,

Before I settled on a Vet most in my area have a free consultation. I don't know if she has a " special degree" but she specializes in small/toy breads. She said 95% of her patients are chi's. she herself has 6 chi's. When doing Otis's exam she was very thorough. She explained all of health issues such as
Subluxation of the patella, Hypoglycemia, and Collapsing trachea.
She has been or practicing for 20+ yrs.
She also explained to me about due to his small size that they would give him shoots over longer periods of time as not to overload him. She called herself a "chi specialist". I am a new chi owner and just going by what I was told??
Out of the 5 Vets that I met with she seemed most knowledgable and didn't seem like she was trying to sell me every item in the store rather was concerned on my puppies well being. As a first time puppy owner/chi it was a little overwhelming at first but she did give me the run down on things to expect.

I agree Charlie had 2 of his baby shots and had a terible reaction with that 2nd shot. I won't be getting anymore I will be doing titers wit him every 2 years to see if he need to be revacinated most dogs are good for life its only a very small percentage that need any more than their first and 2nd shot its better if you do the second shot after 16 weeks after they have been away from their dog mom for at least 4 week so they don't shead the shot with the imunitys the mom gave them
