That's so scary! I hate that helpless, stomach drop terror feeling! So glad she is safe(And such a good girl.).

That's quite a scare! Glad Douglas is okay! That situation probably WOULD give me a heart attack, lol.

I keep ID tags on both dogs but I would like to get them both microchipped.
I like the idea of that one thing (don't remember what it's called) but it's a tracking device you attach to their collar and you have an app on your phone to where if your dog goes out of it's boundaries it alerts you and tells you where they are! I think you have to pay a monthly fee though, but I think that's an awesome idea.

Douglas is chipped, wears a microchip tag, name/number tag, license, AND rabies.

He has a lot of tags. Ha. But I have to do everything I can to keep him safe.

It was a scary night.

Oh now I'm curious! lol. What is a microchip tag and a license tag?
All Ava has is her name and address tag for now, I would like to put her rabies tag on but it's huge! When I tried putting it on her she looked like she belonged in a rap music video I'm assuming a microchip tag is what you get once you get your dog microchipped? I really want to get that done for her.

Most places require you to license your dog with the city and pay a fee each year to do so. It is illegal to have an unlicensed dog and if they find one they give tickets and such, so my boy has his license on at all times.

The microchip tag gives the number of his chip and the cmpany who registered it so that if he is found someone can call the company to reach us (licenses and normal tags do the same but I like to be careful). His rabies is huge too and looks silly but oh well, he has to wear it because when he encounters weird people he can get aggressive and could bite if threatened. I would not want to have them euth him or kill him because of "rabies" if he was just scared.

That's interesting, I've never heard of having to get a license for my dog.
I live in the middle of nowhere though, is it required throughout the US or only in certain cities/states?

I think almost everywhere requires it but if you aren't in a city they may not...the county still might though
