I posted about this in the Santa Baby thread but I think everyone was too busy loving the photos to notice. BG & Sonny did something strange on Saturday at PetSmart when we took all 4 to get Santa photos. Well I had Sadie (she can be a handful and I know what she is up to LOL) my Dad had Lazy Gibbs and my mom had BG and Sonny. Well everytime a human would walk pass my mom BG would growl. Mom would tell her that is rude like I do and she would give her the eyes and do it again. Sonny would growl at every dog that came near his grandma. I took control of him (with Sadie) and the exact same dog walked up but no response from Sonny. Was it because Grandma had them? Grandma SPOILS my kids rotten! They get all the cookies and snuggles they want. She can not walk into my kitchen without loving on them and they go nuts whenever she is around.

Thoughts? Should Grandma take them out more and get some control or should I let this one slide as it was different with all 4 there and my folks there etc?

it sounds like they dont want anyother dog going near there Grandma.
maybe if you have any freinds with dogs that you can invite over while Grandma is visiting , and get them used to Grandma paying attention to other peoples dogs too

Chihuahuas do have a tendency of being protective of people. It's possible though, that if your grandma isn't making a conscious effort to establish boundaries, that's why they feel they need to claim her. Especially if as you say, she spoils them rotten! It's a type of resource guarding. My advice would be the moment they growl, grandma must put them down on the ground and turn her back to them. This will let them know that she doesn't "belong" to any of them and that grandma is not something that can be claimed. =)
