Our Simcha does a lot of self-grooming is this typical?
Simcha very frequently appears to be grooming himself, i.e., licking his paws, licking his tail. Thankfully, licking of privates seems to be fairly limited, and can generally be stopped by distracting him. The licking does seem to be very cat-like, as if he hates to be dirty.
I am also very happy to note that he never has rolled in poop or anything stinky, and he never sticks his nose into poop. And just yesterday, he made me laugh. I was walking him, and preparing to use the plastic poop bag. He had circled and scrunched a few times, and finally produced a fairly small result. But then, I noticed that he was experiencing what a Star Trek aficionado might describe as a ....., er, .... ummm..... Klingon. He was quite aware of it, and seemed to be very disturbed by it, turning his head around and staring at his own backside. I was just about to help out with the plastic bag, when he shook it loose by himself.
All the same, I was impressed by his own sense of cleanliness. I wonder if this is a Chi trait not so common to other breeds. Any other CP here have a very fastidious dog??
