Ok So her "helping paw" is getting a bit out of hand. No Pun intended. We love the fact she brings us anything she finds out of place.
However yesterday afternoon i came in from work to find her holding something in her mouth and wagging her tail. She has started trying to find things about the time she knows i'm going to be home. My Fiance was in the family room at the time so she was not entirly unattended.
Well the item she was holding in her mouth was a piece of vinyl flooring from my bathroom ! Aparently she had found a loose spot and pulled it up. Again this morning she brought us another piece ! We planned to have that bathroom floor redone eventually but how do we correct her for the flooring without discouraging the rest of her adventures to help out?

This isn't going to be the best answer, but it's what I would do until I found the best answer.
Our Chi's go with me or in the crate when I'm not home, but if that's not an option, I would close off the section of the floor that is coming up, with a chair or heavy box or a baby gate keeping the area off limits. Then I would leave things around for her to "find" while I'm away (maybe a few dog toys, a sock half way under the couch, a plastic cup under the table, etc.), that way she doesn't have to feel like she has to pull up flooring to help, lol.

Actually we do crate her when we are not home. My fiance was home at the time she first discovered the vinyl was loose and could help by bringing it to me.
Thank you very much for the suggestions. We did move the baby gate to block off that bathroom till we could come up with a better solution.
We are also hiding various things like socks, and gloves and bits of paper for her to help find.
