Default Jenna update and I feel sad.

The last time I was on here was three weeks ago. I told of my sweet Jenna who my tennant rescued after she was dumped in the road. She is now my foster dog, who will be heading to her new home in a week That sad face needs to be a lot bigger to express how I feel.

She did get to see a GREAT vet who put her on antibiotics and then did her spay/removal of retained baby teeth/exploritory surgery yesterday. According to the vet her uterus with severly infected and deformed. She is now on stonger antibiotics since the others didn't clear up the infection. My poor sweet baby hurts today She slept most of the day, but did mange to eat three small meals, drink, and potty.

I didn't think I could love this little dog more but now that I have to sit with her all day and worry about her beyond reason, I am even more attached if that is even possible. I don't know how I am going to part with her. To avoid making a huge scene I think I won't be here when they come to get her. I have parted with nearly 20 foster cats but none hurt like this.

I would never be able to foster another animal if I keep her so that isn't an option. Plus her new Mom is delighted to have found Jenna. She is a sweet young girl in her first apartment, I need to focus on that...That is so hard to do. I keep thinking of my sweet young daughter who will be losing her best friend.

Goodness, I rattled on enough. You get the point - - I'm sad.

You were her savior. You are so wonderful to give Jenna such a great start to her forever home.
I have no idea how this fostering works, but if you are not going to do it anymore, can you keep her?

I can only imagine how you feel, and to nurture and take care of Jenna and build a relationship/bond with her, then have to give her to a new home.. I can see why you would be sad
But in a way, it's bittersweet, you get to see Jenna, who you took in and got her back on her feet, making her a happy, healthy, and loved chi again. You gave her the opportunity to go to someone who will love and take care of her and give her a forever home!
I have a lot of respect for those who foster animals, you take in animals who have had rough lives and give them a second chance to find a loving home.
Much love and respect!
Maybe you and the owner can stay in touch so you and your daughter can still see Jenna?

I cannot imagine how difficult it must be. You have done a wonderful thing for her. She is so fortunate to have that time with you. You saved he and have her a chance for a good life in a forever home.

You are my hero, I could never foster and be as strong as you are. I feel sad for you, as I know my heart would be breaking. Your poor little girl, that is awful hard for her to go through. I know when I was a child, my parents gave a Rat Terrier away, that was our pet for a few years. I think of that little dog still, I am now 64..It really left me with an awful memory, I still think of her.

It is only someone with the truest, most selfless love that can do what you are doing. I am sorry for your daughter's pain on losing a friend too but she is a lucky child because the example you are setting for her will teach an empathy for both animals and humans which few people share. She and Jenna are both lucky to have you! ((((Hugs)))). I am sorry for your pain. It sounds like you have found a wonderful home for Jenna and what a blessing for the young woman who will have a companion in her new home. Merry Christmas, sweetie! I think the Christmas spirit is alive and well at your house!

Fostering is hard...we've done it for a long time.

She will be happy in her new home, and kudos for helping her. She will always be thankful. It is hard to let go but there will always be another in need of help.

There were a few times my husband and I seriously considered keeping a foster, it was soooo hard to give them up! After they got their forever homes it would be sad around the house for a few weeks... Seemed so quiet. Keeping in touch with the new parents really helped us, and then we would get a new foster that needed our help. We also have 2 dogs of our own that needed love and attention too. A lot of time, work, and love goes into fostering pets, and a little bit of your heart. Good luck lady!
