Wow! You guys are warm! My house is at 60 during the day and at night. It goes up to 65 between 7-8am and 6-9pm. Lilo never burrows under any blankets but she does curl up on my lap or in her little dog bed. When it gets in the 20s and 30s outside I put a sweater on her as she does seem to be more chilled, even in the house.
We keep the house at 70 (That's 21.1 Celsius for you Canadians). However, Simcha's special bedroom, since it is an add-on to our home, has its own warm air vent, controlled by the main thermostat. With the door closed when he is sleeping in there, the temperature gets very toasty, probably about 80 - and he seems to like that.
Ours is between 18-72 during the day. During the night, it gets hot in our rooms so we have to actually keep the windows cracked alittle. The kids are under layers of blankets that they can pull on or off depending on how they feel, and the pups are in their crates with blankets inside and fleece overtop. I check on them when I get up a few times during the night to make sure their temp. is okay, they stay nice and warm in there, but not so warm that they're uncomfortable.
We keep our heat on 68 most of the time. But we are still using our ceiling fan at night when we're asleep. But it really hasn't gotten cold here yet. We've only had a few cold days. It's 61 right now outside.
I'm with LS; we're cheap too so we keep it at about 65. Gas is expensive these days!!! I want to say it cost us about $400 just to fill the tank; but that'll last us all winter easily.
Although I get cold easily, I'm also up and about most of the day so that keeps me warm. Also helps to have 8 portable, fuzzy space heaters...
We're cheap, lol. We dress warm instead, and have comfy blankets everywhere.
Here too...Keep it 55 at night...we have big down duvets....and around 60 in the day. I turn it up when we need to get the chill off or bath the dog, take showers that sort of thing. So maybe on 70 for a n hour on the morning in a an hour or two in the evening.. Rico has a huge electic blanket to warm his "base" area....he loves it and i don't have to keep the heat on 72...haha. I'd be out of oil in two days for doing that. I got the electric blanket when I was worried that he'd be home alone and get cold. He loves it !! and it is much le$$ to run than heating the whole house.
My house is currently around 55 since I really don't use the heater. A bit cold but we manage. Percy doesn't seem to care... he is currently chasing a ball around. At night I keep lots of extra blankets on my bed for him to burrow in. I get way too hot when peoples houses are in the 70s. I prefer 60-65.
