Thanks all ... ah yes, the storms - well it's storm season here so that's a regular thing. When I first moved up here it was a huge shock because in the sub-tropics you get ALL your rain throughout summer but it is usually accompanied by masses of thunder, lightning & hailstones, sometimes as big as softballs, often as big as golf balls. 12 years ago we used to get a storm like that daily, starting at about 4pm, now they're much fewer & far between and arrive at any time - I've definitely seen weather changes over the last decade.
The pups are sooo funny when it's happening, they look at me as much as to say what the heck is this commotion shaking our house and disturbing our sleep and then literally throw their heads back down like a petulant teen who doesn't want to get up for anything.
Hehehe HWMNBO doesn't know it (I put it on his Amex card so he'll know when the statement comes in) bought them a Pet Safe Platinum Water Fountain from the RSPCA store on the weekend - it was $150 well spent, they LOVE it!!! In reality I think it's all a bit of a gimmick but it's nice to be able to throw ice cubs into the water reservoir when it's hot. If I give them ice in their water bowl it turns into a free-for-all.
