We have never had to take away antler yet. They're WAY down on the pup's list of likes. But I'd take it away when it could fit into the mouth.

My dogs only eat the marrow out (it takes months, or in the case of the moose antlers I have now it will be years) so I haven't taken them away yet but my rule with stuff is once it fits in the mouth of the biggest dog in the house I take it away. With bully sticks it is nice because everyone chews them separately so I take the small ends from my bigger dog and give them to the chis.

Haha, we do the opposite! The little dog gets the 12" super-thick bully, and medium size Himalayan chews. When they get down to a "gulpable" end, she loses it to the shepherds who eat it in 30 seconds flat!

I'm curious, how big are the moose antlers?

Haha! Kerri is a careful chewer and the bigger dog is more of a "cram it down my throat when it is really too big for that and now I'm choking" type.

Just took these for a size comparison. They are thick too, weigh about a pound each.
