I was wondering what size does everyone let antlers get to when you throw them away.

My rule of thumb is usually when Jaxx can no longer hold it in his paws it is getting to small.

Right now the antler he is chewing on is getting about to that point. I think sometimes I throw them away too soon but I don't want to risk him choking.

I looked at the one he is chewing on and it is a little bit smaller than half of its original size.

Here is the comparison of a new one and the one he is chewing on ...(it looks huge in the picture but it doesn't seem that big.)

I haven't had to take away an antler yet, but I would think I would do the same as I do with bully sticks. I take bullies away before the point where the whole piece could potentially fit in Odie's mouth.

I am looking forward to seeing how well Jaxx likes bullysticks, we got him one for Christmas to see if he likes them before I buy a bag of them.

Depending upon how often Jaxx chews on antlers I throw one away about every 2 to 3 weeks. He loves his antlers though.

i have one at home, and Star only try to eat the marrow half. But in that pic I think I would throw it away. Is it about 1.5 inches?? I have the spiral bully stick from early November that Star look like she barely made any shorter than when I bought it, and I see her chew on it at least once a day.

Both mine has chewed them down till their not even there anymore. Dex,loves to finish then off lol
