That's very sad. I thought the puppies looked premature in the picture you posted. They weren't all the way developed. Preemie puppies have a VERY high mortality rate.

Oh my gosh, I'm so so sorry that both you and she have to go through this. Poor momma. She is in good hands with you though, and she will be spayed and won't ever have to lose another pup again.

I'd check with the vet for the mama. He may be able to stop her milk production. IF they nursed, then it would be really uncomfortable for her. So sorry about the puppies.

I'm so sorry for both you and Lola. I also thought they looked a little premature, you didn't witness the mating did you? So that is probably what it was. There was nothing you could have done, although I know that will be little comfort right now. Be grateful you still have dear Lola, and give her an extra kiss from me xxx
