I ordered a medium size sherpa soft sided carrier. 17"L x11"w x10.5"h but they sent the large at 20"L x 11.75" w x 11.5"H. Has anyone flown with a carrier in cabin of this size and did it work out for you okay? I dont want to be turned away.

Ask the airlines what is the 'clearance' under their seats. Southwest was very little.

Hmmm... That's big. You get a little flexibility in size, because bags do crush down a lot (unless you ask the people at the counters - they can be RIDICULOUSLY unacommodating) but I don't think you'll get THAT much flexibility.

I fly with the large one. Usually with Delta, and also once with United. Had no problems at all. I've never had anyone measure the carrier either, only weight it with the pet inside.
