Thought I would keep a going on the same thread to keep things easy. I just wanted to update y'all on Nova. She is doing really well all things considered. I am still taking the tact of ignoring her 99% of the time. As long as I don't make any attempt to move towards her she is getting more and more comfortable. When I am eating granola bars she will come over and sit on my lap as long as I let her have some. That is the only time she makes any physical contact yet and she runs if I make any quick movements or if the food stops flowing
We had to give her a bath and trim her nails. It just needed to happen, she smelled so bad i couldn't take it any more. Overall it went better than I expected. We muzzled her of course, and she only went for me once when we first got her under the bath. I am able to pick her up if I corner her in her crate and she no longer freezes in fear (I am glad about that because the next thing after frozen is attacking and it made me really on edge). So we grabbed her, muzzled her, I held her while hubbie clipped the nails, then he held her in his arms (fully clothed to avoid getting scratched) and I washed her in the bath tub. The water ran black and it was disgusting! It was traumatic i'm sure but the whole ordeal was over in less than 5 minutes.
Here is a family pick of the whole pack-
She will sit on the couch with the other dogs as long as I am not moving or doing anything strange. I caught this pick as she was mid flee. Scarey human Annie was getting up for a better picture angle.
I LOVE this one, it is so precious. Copley has really taken Nova under his care. He lets her chew on bully sticks right in front of him and tolerates a lot of things that he never would from other dogs. They also cuddle like this all the time. Nova and Kerri and him really are a perfect pack, Kerri has always really clicked with Copley but he also was a good "responsible adult" dog to raise her as a puppy. Copley is always a little light on the affection and strong with the discipline, but also tolerant of puppy antics and play. They are buddies for sure but not cuddly and attached the way he and Nova are. He just seems to be in love with her- it is a side of him I hadn't seen before.

Also I am sure that is Nova not Kerri (hubbie even asked me!) because Kerri is wearing a peace sign sweater and you can see her butt in the bottom of the photo.
