Poor Jaxx hope he gets back to normal soon. On the plus side it sounds like your father in law has learned his lesson, even if it was the hard way. Fingers crossed it won't happen again!

Poor little one!

My boy does get people food but I don't like it when people other than me feed him. I'm picky about what he gets and how much. Most people who try to feed him offer huge amounts of whatever it is. If I am giving macaroni he gets ONE noodle. Everyone else tries to feed a whole spoonful. Or half a plate of ham. Or a cooked bone. And I'm like NO NO No
STOP

I am sorry that happened to you, hope he'll be better soon.

Thank you all for your good wishes. I am going to call the vet as soon as he opens. Jaxx still has diarrhea and there was some blood in it last night. He is not acting like himself and all he wants to do is lay in his bed. I know the vet says it will pass but Jaxx doesn't even want to eat a bland diet. I have got him to eat a little pumpkin. He is drinking and I have put some sugar in his water. I have never seen Jaxx act so withdrawn.

His symptoms sound pretty severe for a piece of pepperoni & a cinnamon roll.
Is it possible he got into something? or ate a non food object? Xmas time there are always lots of things laying about, wrappers, paper.. etc.

Id take him to the vet to be safe if the pepto is not clearing it up, it sounds like something else is going on, my dogs get stuff all the time (kids) and they've never been ill from human food.

That is what I was thinking too. He has a very sensitive stomach so that is why I thought it was the food but I think he should have snapped out of it by now. I have decided if our vet can't get him in this morning we will head to Dallas and go to our old vet there.

Good luck!

The only time my male dog has ever been sick was when he ate my friend's dog's dog food.. go figure. Pepto and pumpkin fixed him right up.
