Hi there, I,m currentley crocheting jumpers for Charchi and just had a thought, I,m getting another chi soon, is this a waste of time to put knitwaer on two dog,s that are going to be playing alot? or should i make the jumpers out of flannel? do any of u have problems with your chi,s recking their jumpers-sweaters when they play, thank,s -janet.
Mylo will often grab Willow by her jumper when they play if she's wearing one. Willow doesn't do this though so I think it depends on the individual dog.
From my point of view chihuahua knitwear comes in jolly handy, I have a 16 month old grandson who I mind 3 days a week, he can occasionally be a bit rough with Rolo. Rolo, being a donut, doesn't keep out of his way, he loves him to bits and sticks to him like glue. A couple of times the baby has grabbed him jolly hard but as he has been wearing a little jumper hasn't been able to make contact with his skin! The only thing I would say to be careful of is don't leave your chi's unattended while wearing knitwear, I'm always worried Rolo may try to get it off and get stuck or get it caught on his cage. I always take his jumpers off at night or when I go out. Grandson is in the process of being taught how to be gentle with animals!
I don't have two chis but from experience I think it depends on the chi and the knitwear. Jaxx has always tugged and tore up knitwear until Krystal made him a sweater I never could have him a sweater that he didn't destroy so I stuck to cottons. The sweater that Krystal made is wonderful and is such great quality that he wears it all the time and it still looks perfect.
