Sure you can call it silly but it all sounds normal to me, LOL!! For any of my "planned" additions, it's always been months of dreaming of the perfect little family member! It can be a great thing though; if you can focus your excitement on selecting a good breeder, and preparing for the arrival! I always like to have a collar and name tag already ordered if I have my heart set on a name; I like to think of it as a "welcome home," gift. If you start a little box now of things just for her; and only get a little thing here or there as you find them; you'll have a huge gift box ready by the time you've found her! =D Good luck with your search!!

Such a sweet idea! I kinda wanted to do that but hubby said we should wait closer to time. If it were left up to me, i'd be making her a little box now. I wanted to get a bow each year, but he said they'd dry rot. Lol. Im so excited. But that would make it so real!! maybe it's time to try to talk him into it again

Not quite as easy as a shi tzu, huh? Ha.

They are very sweet dogs usually good on the table, but they hate their feet touched.
Oh foxes are beautiful!!! I know its a cartoon but that movie "fox and the hound "is one of my absolute favorites!!!!

Foxes are the neatest animals..I'm going to get a silver most likely (a color morph of red), but a normal red would work too.

I've got a thing with them, I can get close to and sometimes touch wild foxes, even when they are terrified of other people. They are my friends, like family really, and having one around all the time would be lovely. They're incredibly difficult compared to a normal dog, they are destructive and like to pee on their stuff but to me anything would be worth it to have one of my own.

Sadly I have to move away for that to happen. I live in a state where almost all exotics are banned. I even tried for a fennec fox and no luck.

I think a Shih Tzu would be a lovely addition to your indoor pack, they seem to have compatible personalities to Chis and Daxies.....although you will def need a pair!
Im very jealous of your Dachshunds though. I have the 2 Chi's and 2 Chiweenie's now but when they are get much older I def want a pair of Dachshunds as well!
I think alot of Chihuahua owners have other breeds, its just we will always want at least one little cuddly ratdog in the mix too!

Oh i love my dachshunds!!!! They are very sweet! Very loveable and loyal!!! Great companions! The only thing is having to be careful with their backs. Maiseys has went out quite a few times but minnies only once or twice. Someone actually dumped minnie off and she thankfully made her way to our house. We got maisey so minnie would have a dachshund. Maisey loves taking pictures but minnie does not

Well you will certainly get that with a Shih Tzu. It was one of the breeds I was considering when getting mine but the grooming costs put me off. Another breed I considered was a King Charles spaniel. We had a ruby one when I was young and they are the softest dog ever. I never heard her growl, our chi could do anything to her and our guinea pig used to climb all over her. Another sweet and playful breed.
