Ooohh wow! I just did a real quick "exercise" with Angel. He loves to be in a lap. He is not allowed in "my" lap unless invited. He kept jumping up, trying to get in my lap. When I make him sit and say "come" so I can pick him up, he either doesn't come or goes the other way! Well, just now, I turned my back on him and moved my chair when he wouldn't come. After about 3-4 attempts, he finally came and let me pick him up!! Yeah!!

Just gives further proof, we have to be consistent!!

Lily always does this,she comes over wants to be picked up,as soon as my hands go down off the little monkey goes,she'll do this twice till i ignore her and she gets fed up of doing it

My chi's run if I loom over them to pick them up. Emmie will come to me in a kitchen chair IF I ask her 'do you want to come up?' If she does, then she'll get in position. It certainly is annoying, but alot of chi's do not like to be picked up.

Haha, I thought mine was the only crazy one who does this. Every time im laying in the bed and he doesnt wanted to jump up, he barks and scratches the side of the bed, when i leave over to pick him up, he scoots back where I cant reach him, and everytime I have to get out of the bed, reaching down to pick him up while he scoots all the way over to the other side of the bed. My little girl doesnt do that though. I she wants on the couch, all I have to do is put my hands down and she comes up.

I just started turning my back on him and ignoring him. He's starting to get the idea! If he wants in my lap, . . . keep still and let me pick you up! hahaha
