Default new chi soon

Hope everything goes well today
Just a word of advice, make sure she is really ready to leave as most consider 7 weeks to be a little young for a chi to leave its mummy. I am no expert as I don't even have my chi yet, I'm really just echoing what others on this forum have said. Hopefully someone more experienced will be along shortly to give you some advice for looking after a young pup. X

Yay! Ike was 7 weeks and I made sure he ate several times a day 4 times broke his food up into 4 servings, and I had to sit with him and hand the food to him for the first week. He was so nervous leaving his Mom, Dad and sister that he didn't want to eat. I also had to take him to the water to drink. 7 weeks is young, just have to be very careful with his eating. Pictures , we want lot's of them.

Eira, 7 weeks is far too young for a chihuahua puppy to leave it's mother - it mightn't be fully weaned and really needs the socialisation it will get with it's litter mates.

12 weeks or at the earliest 10 weeks is the recommended age for chihuahua puppies to leave their mothers and litter mates - see can you talk the breeder into keeping her a few extra weeks - it really will pay off!

If you already have her, be very sure to feed her frequently as Evelyn says, and be sure you know what to watch out for with hypoglycemia - low blood sugars, have nutrical or somesuch handy - search nutrical here on the forum and Hypoglycemia for hints on what to watch out for and do if the pup does seem shaky or lethargic.

Here's an article on hypoglycemia - Article on hypoglycemia

Congratulations on your puppy I know you are ever so excited to bring her home but you may want to consider waiting a little longer.
we didn't get Prada and gucci until they were 12 weeks, it is much healthier for the pup to stay with her mom and litter mates until around 10 weeks at least
