I love talking about naming pets and always have something new in my head when I get a foster dog.

Belle- I didn't name her.. She was a tiny thing if 7 weeks old when I got her and my sister thought it would be cute to name her Belle. I said "ohhhhhhhh...anything but Tinkerbelle.." LOL..So than she was Belle. It is ironic because I love the word "Beautiful" and I love french. So ideally it worked out super.

Smudge- Came with the name "PUDGE" and being 8 lbs.. well he wasn't a Pudge. My mom has a funny thing about messing up the dogs names and ended up saying "Smudge". Little did I realize he had a mark on his nose that looked like he got into a pail of paint and it stuck. lol.

CUrrent foster dogs:
Freedom came with the name Reynold.. but I didn't like it.. It's my brothers name.. (Raynald..but sounds way too similar. I sometimes laugh when I call him. "Freedom, Freedom!" lol.

Gabrielle- Was paige- She needed a new name. I had no problems with the name. I liked it but she was getting a new start. It fits and I've always liked it.

Gem: Just adopted. Was going to name her Jewel but my friend overruled me so I called her Gem.

Juliet- Was Dixie. My roommate told me to keep it but I wanted to name her Juliet so it stuck.

Faith- was a different name I didn't like very much.. the black and tan chi who is giving me trouble. I liked the name Faith from Buffy so I used it.

Previous foster dog-
Beau- was Seamus- I couldn't spell it nor remember how to say it and he was very bossy so I changed it to Beau. And little did I know that his new family would keep it. It's very funny!



Thea

Rolo came with the name from the breeder. Had all the usual Mexican names lined up, was very keen on Chico but it didn't suit him so stuck with Rolo. Buttons was called so because I wanted to keep in with the chocolate theme! The other ladies on here probably remember me putting a thread on here asking for white chocolate/sweets names. We went with Buttons after my daughter suggested it, so Rolo is named after Rolos and Buttons after Milky Bar Buttons!

Honey is so called because of her colouring and of course, she is sweet like Honey (when she wants to be lol) x

Kalisee was given to me named. Its the name of a platinum blond character from the show Game of Thrones, which I have not even seen an episode of.

I named Tiny Tiny because she was Tiny when we first adopted her. We named Penny Penny because we had to find a name that would sound smaller thzn Tiny LOL!!!!! So we choose Penny a small brown coin lol.

We had a difficult time with Zara

We originally thought bug as she was not much bigger than a bug. It didn't fit.

We came up with A few others and they didn't fit.

Finally my boyfriend said he wanted to give her the name of a goddess since she was such a diva. And we did research settling on either Hanwei a Native American earth goddess or Zara the Incan goddess of Maze ( corn)

We took a poll from trainers and groomers and friends

Zara won

Lexie just looked like a Lexie. Chance for 'second chance' after we lost our dear Chase. Gianna is an Italian name, I'm Italian. Jade just because I love the name.
