Gemma makes a lot of snorting/honking sounds. I don't mean when she is reverse sneezing, I just mean normally while she is breathing sometimes. Especially while I am petting her or while she is relaxed, she makes these really funny honky sounds. It kind of sounds like she is snoring while she's awake. I'll have to try to record it in a video sometime.
Does anyone else hear noises like these from their Chis?
Part of the reason why we call Bella "Belka"(meaning squirrel), is because she
makes silly squirrel type noises when she is unhappy or at times during play.
It's pretty funny stuff, she thinks she's so tough, but those noises sound
hilarious, and far from threatening.
Hi Caitlin, I know exactly what sounds you are describing because Bella makes them all the time too. I used to worry thinking there was something wrong with her but over time I've relaxed as she's very healthy and I'm pretty sure they are just another quirky Chi thing.
Lol, LS. That sounds so cute. I'm not sure Bella could do anything to make herself seem threatening! She is just too adorable.
Lisa, I worried a little before too, but Gemma is in perfect health and I remember my family Chi making a lot of funny snorting sounds too. They bring us lots of laughs. Gemma's sitting inside of the front of my bathrobe I am wearing right now, and every time I start scratching behind her ears and around her neck, she starts making those funny sounds.
Lol that is sweet, I've noticed when Bella is sniffing around something and she's really interested in it the noise becomes louder, she sounds like a little piglet, oink oink.
