Chico has almost choked to death twice. Once when he was just a puppy and I had to put my fingers on his neck and push the food up until it was far enough up it his throat that I could pull it out of his mouth. I knew he was choking because he started banging the side of his head on the floor. It scared me a lot. The second time I was able to pull it without having to push first. I always make sure to break up anything that he eats into small peices and that he has fully swallowed each peice before I give him the next one.

VERY INFORMATIVE ARTICLE although the HEIMLICH has been changed in the human 1st aid course here where I live ,I wonder if the new technique
for us would also work for dogs?
