have checked out craigslist.org? u might get lucky in finding a sewing machine there.

craigslist isnt always the best way to go since there are no exchanges or warantees from my experience through the 1st machine i had...it was worth exchanging for since the bottom part where you put the bobbin was plastic instead of metal which broke
