Hi all. I took Zarita (longhair 6.5 yrs.) over to the vet's this morning. She has been coughing, gagging and reallly being lethargic. She is overweight by 1 lb, maybe l.5pounds. I had thyroid and a wellness blood test done. Get the results tomorrow. Expect them to be fine. X ray was done to see if we could get a collapsing trachea. Not this time. Vet suspects this. Heart size was just right! Hooray!! Lungs fine. Bones fine. Sooooo it looks like Miss Piggy (ooopps, that just slipped out, sorry Zarita) will be on a diet. We figured out that she needs about 150 calories. Hopefully she'll get the weight off.

A lot of her issues may be attributed to her weight. Hopefully losing weight will help her! Good luck to you and Zarita.

Good to hear her heart and lungs look good! And fingers crossed that bloodwork comes back great as well.

Is she sneezing/pawing at her face? Any nasal discharge?

Izzy sends empathetic hugs to Zarita....Izzy eats very little but has an ongoing weight issue...it like she puts on ozs by just looking at something tasty We are very careful with her caloric intake but she remains a chunky monkey....
