Default Heartworm tablet or injection?

Hi everyone, I have been giving Charchi the H/W tabs every month, i still see this as shoving poison down his throat and hate all of the tablets we have to give our little babes.BUT, can some of you please explain how much worse is the H/W injection compaired to the monthly tablets it,s all poison anyway, even though i know it has to be done, is the site of the injection the biggest problem with people not wanting the injection? because isen,t it all he same stuff?thanks-janet.

I have been using Revolution:

I am not sure if this helps my vet recommended this I have been using since Otis was 6 weeks and very happy with the results

There have been way more side effects in the injectable prevention than in the oral tablets and topical solutions. What you can do is give a tablet every 45 days instead of every month. That way at least you aren't giving him the medication as often.

I am not sure where you live but they stopped doing injections here due to the dangers and side effects that were happening. This has been years ago so maybe they have a new injection out but I hadnt heard of a new one?

Yeah most vets won't do them, for good reason. I'm not sure if they've actually been banned though.

I think the OP is an Aussie. I have no idea what their rules are.

As far as the injection, I don't know if it's banned here but I do know that every vet I've talked to refuses to do it because of the dangers. They all recommend a pill/chew.
