My Chico is 3 mths old. His breeder told me to ensure he eats atleast every 5 hours and I only feed him whats recommended on the bag of food. About 3 days ago he wasn't eating as much as usual and so I added about a teaspoon of wet food and he loved it. His next poo was soft so I stopped giving him the wet food. The breeder told me to give him some rice but the vet told me not to. It has been three days and his poo is still very soft and getting softer! 😖 I hope my baby is ok, he puked once and still has all his energy and his mood has not changed at all! Any ideas?

I would add some pumpkin to his kibble. Stop the 'wet food' for now until this soft stool clears up. Some pups can't adjust to an added ingredient until their little tummies get some 'good' bacteria in them. Probiotiocs may help too.

What kind of food are your feeding him. When I got Ike, my Vet told me to feed him 1/4 cup food , slipt up ,4 times a day, he was 7 weeks old, that is it 1/4 cup, but I do give him natural treats about 3 times a day. Now that he is 4 monts and 2 weeks old, I give him 1/3 cup a day, I split it 3 ways and he get one feeding in the am, with a teaspoon of can food and I feed him in the evening, during the day I take the other third of his food as treats, everytime he goes pee or poopy outside or on the pad. Plus when we go somewhere and put him in the crate, he gets a treat and when we eat he gets a treat. I am wondering if you are feeding him too much, I ignore what it say on the bag, and get by the Vet and what I think he is doing well on. I feed him Fromm dry and wet dog food and Ziwipeak treats, I also feed my Pug the same food, she gets a little more then him.

Susan, by giving him pumpkin will I be messing with what he already used to?

Evelyn. The breeder was feeding him royal canine so I am continuing as to not change his diet suddenly. The bag says 1/2 cup a day and he is 3 mths old. I give him some in the am, lunch and evening. And he gets a couple treats a day for potty training.
