Question How to know if puppy is hypoglycemic?

I just got Bitsy home. She is 7 weeks so of course all she has done is sleep. How will I be able to tell if she is hypoglycemic? She had a big meal about 2 hours ago before she came home. How long before she needs to eat again? Thanks Here is a pic for fun.

I'm not sure how often they need to eat. Every 4 hours minimum I think but little and often is good. I free fed mine when they first came home. They will sleep a lot but should be alert and energetic when they are awake. If they're hypoglycemic they will be sleepy, uncoordinated, they may stumble, not want to play. If you see any of these symptoms then you need to raise their blood sugar pronto. If you have honey, karo syrup or nutrical about rub that on the gums and then feed protein like chicken to stop a sugar crash. Make sure they're well hydrated too. I never saw any signs of hypoglycemia in mine but it's best to know the symptoms. You can google it for a more thorough list of symptoms. Congrats on having your baby home xox

I have a puppy playpen, and mine had kibble down all the time. At about 3-4 months I started with 3 meals a day, plus kibble down at night. Now at 9+ months she gets two meals and a little kibble at night in a puppy kong.

when my chi came home she was six weeks( she was on pig weaning formula) and all she did was sleep, play for a bit eat and sleep.if she had hypogylocemic the symptoms are lethargy, weakness and lack of coordination.just give her a little white corn syrup and warm water in a medicine syringe it certainly won't hurt and that way you know it not hypoglycemia
