Default Introducing...Cha Cha!

Hi everyone! On Sunday, I was given the chance to add Lola's half sister to our pack! She's a short coat, which is a first for me! LOL!

Anyway, she's had kind of a hard life prior to coming here, including having "fallen off the couch" which broke her right foreleg just above the carpus. The previous owner tried to set it herself, and didn't take Cha Cha to the vet, so she has a funky gait, and large knot at the wrist area where it broke. smh. She's also a little thin, but nothing a good diet won't cure, and she's made the switch to raw like a champ!

In spite of everything, she's such a sweet natured baby, and just like Lola, she doesn't know a stranger. We're working on trying to get her potty trained, which is proving challenging, but I'm hoping with some structure, and a little less chaos like her previous home, that she comes around. Hopefully it will get even easier when spring and warm weather arrives. hehe!

This is a pic I took of her the day I brought her home.

Oh my!!!! How does anyone not get a vet to set a leg???!!! At least now she is in a safe place. Glad she is eating raw well. She does look a little lean. A beautiful black and tan. Cha Cha is now a member of your family and ours.

Thank you, Susan. I'm getting very attached to her pretty quickly, and she seems to be settling into our home and routine fairly easily. She's glued to me and shadows me everywhere I go. LOL!

Does Cha Cha mimic Lola in the house training? Some of my pups watched the grown dogs 'go' on the pads, and followed, which I praised like mad. If she goes outside then maybe Lola will teach her! Here's hoping!

Yeah, I'm sure hoping so! She had absolutely no idea what a pad was, in spite of the previous owner telling me she used them. She's slowly coming around and getting better about using them...she tinkles on them with little problem now, and is finally pooping in the vicinity of the pad as opposed to, say, under the dining room table. Thank goodness now that she's entirely on raw and off the cheap kibble, the size (and smell) of her poops have diminished considerably! I think she'll get the hang of it completely before long.
