What an adorable face! And her colors are beautiful. Nice to see a chi playing--I sure wish Butterbean would. Sometimes she gets frisky and excited and I try to direct that energy toward a toy, but she never seems to want to grab it or shake it or anything like that.
Those before and after pics are jaw-dropping, too. How did she get "before"--was she a rescue, or did she get ill, or . . . ?

Thank you everyone! I'm happy I can share her with you all.
Thank you for siggy compliments too, if anyone ever wants one just let me know.
ChiDad, yes Bella was a rescue. I don't think she was abused, but she was
definitely neglected. It wasn't just her physical that was in poor condition,
it was her mental too. She wasn't socialized, never left the crate, and as
a result feared the whole world, every object, sound, surface, dog, person,
etc. We've come a long way, she's a different dog, but it is a challenging
and slow process, we still have a way to go.

She looks so happy and healthy--you're doing an amazing job!!
It's still a little mysterious to me how or why Butterbean ended up a rescue (and I've talked to a few people about it--her foster mom and the named parties on the AKC papers that came with her), but fortunately through it all she came to me as a healthy, very well-adjusted little doggy. Knowing from my parents' experience with a Cairn how difficult rescues can be sometimes, I certainly appreciate that and by no means take it for granted.

Absolutely, not every adopted dog will come with issues. Just because they
were given up on does not mean there is anything wrong with them, and if
there are issues most times the owner is to blame for the dog's behavioral
issues anyways. Of course there are other factors, but often times the
problems arise from neglect, lack of socialization and training. There are
plenty of good dogs to adopt, some just need a little more work than others.
Your Butterbean is precious, I always enjoy the pictures.
