I couldn't afford to take her. It would have been $450 in flight fees for Gemma, plus getting her a health certification/passport from the vet and a carrier for the plane. It would have totaled around $600 or more to bring her, which is almost as much as my own ticket. If I were going to be staying longer, I would have made it work, but it's just 2.5 weeks, so I decided to leave her this time. When my boyfriend comes with me for a longer visit to the US, we will bring Gemma. My family is dying to meet her.

Oh Caitlin! How great you are visiting your family, but how sad to leave Gemma! She just looks sooo irresistable!

I don't blame your family for being anxious to meet her!

We will be practically neighbors for a few weeks! hahaha!
