Last weekend I took Ruby for a walk and her first trip to the beach. As soon a she set foot on the sand she just wanted to run and run and run! She went straight up to the water to see what it was, but definitely wasn't keen on it. Haha is always been concerned with not taking her for long walks as she is so small, but after reading a bunch if forum posts about people taking their chi's in long walks I stopped worrying about tiring her out. In fact, after an hour we had to turn around and come home because I was getting tired, when she runs she's so fast I literally have to sprit to keep up with her (the beach I took her to doesn't allow dogs off the leash).
I took a video of her running, it's really funny, but I can't work out how to post it up here. I think I probably have to do it through the computer rather then my iPhone. I did manage to get some screen shots though!

She looks like she is having a great time...my Izzy loves the beach...we holiday on a beautiful beach on Manitoulin Island ... Iz and I take numerous long walks on it everyday...Zari is sort of nervous of the waves so she likes to stay farther back LOL
we are deep in winter with lots of snow, so I am a bit green with envy to see those lovely pics LOL

It's one I got on eBay, it has angel wings! Hehehe

I'm probably going to take her back down there tomorrow. There's a doggy beach somewhere near by too, I'm told so I might take her there and see if she likes swimming!

It was 43 degrees here yesterday, and didn't drop below 35 until like 3am, so yesterday I was definitely wishing it was colder! Hahaha does anyone have any tips for keeping chi's cool when it's so disgustingly hot? I usually make sure she has lots of fresh water and sometimes put ice cubes in her bowl too.
