Yeah, my lab mix doesn't act any less happy than she did at 3, when we got her. She's never been high energy, but does love a good walk. In fact, if it weren't for her weight (She needs to lose a lot of it..) and that some of the yellow spots on her muzzle have turned to white, you wouldn't even know the difference. She loves long hikes and walks, enjoys a good belly rub..it is sad to think that in a shelter, because of her age, she wouldn't be adopted. She is a true perfect dog. She loves walks when you want them but doesn't destroy things or get wild without them. She can be left all day with no accidents and won't destroy the house. She is polite, easy to train, and loves her humans, but will protect us when needed. She is quiet and doesn't even bark at the door. It is hard to believe she came to us as an abandoned rescue dog.
I love her just as much as I did when she was young and she is not worth any less because of her age. This is her, by the way-
That was taken a month or two ago.
Your boy is young, very young. He is beautiful, healthy, and active. Enjoy it. If I spent all day worried about Lulu's age, I'd never get out and enjoy the sunlight with her and Douglas.
Keeping active and enjoying life will help him to live longer, and as I said before, these guys live a very long time. I hope to have Douglas for a good 18 more years. (He's two..) I know you take excellent care of Brody, so I'm sure he will have a very good, long life with you.
