Default Infected uterus? Advice please

Today I took Tamara to the vet to have her annual shots. I was in for a big surprise. The vet found a huge lump in her abdoumen. At first, she thought it might have been a puppy, because she had milk. I've had her for 6-7 weeks only so I thought maybe the breeder did not know it and she got pregnant just before I got her. My vet also thought it might be her bladder being full so I took her outside to pee but she only did a little and it changed nothing to the lump. So the vet took an x-ray of her abdomen and it showed a big balloon like shape taking a lot of room in her little abdomen (I personnally saw nothing but an empty space but I'm not an expert of course). The vet thinks it's her uterus being filled with liquid that might be caused by hormonal problems. She was schedules to be spayed mid-june, but now she has to have it urgently. I'll be taking her in tuesday morning (they're closed monday) and if everything goes well, she should be out the same night. If not, they'll keep her longer. If they find an infection, she will have to be on antibiotics too. My dog is not acting as if she were sick. She's eating well, is being active and her behavior is totally normal. I certainly don't want to take the risk of her being sick but I sometimes feel like I'm being taken advantage of. It cost me 125$ today for the exam + X-Ray and the surgery will cost me 302$ plus the cost of medication afterwards if necessary. This is only a 4 pound dog! How much would it be if she was a 90 pound german sheperd! Anyhow, I really love my dog and I certainly won't take the risk of letting anything happen to her, so I'll definitely pay whatever I have to. We are so helpless in these situations. Anybody has ever had anything like that happen to their dog?

The vet said it was not Pyometra (yet) but we had to operate fast so it did not turn into that. Thanks for mentioning the word because she kept calling it "PYO" and I could not figure the rest and forgot to ask. I'll do some research on it now.

I'd go ahead and have it done. You were going to get her spayed anyway right?
I hope everything goes well and she recovers quickly with no complications.
