Elmo was getting a bit chunky we thought so we cut his lunch out but know he's dropped a little too much we think and I am wondering does he still need three meals a day? He begged my mum for lunch today and ate it all up but we don't want an overweight dog. I feed him his breakfast at about 8.40 am and then I have been giving his dinner at about 5 because we had cut out his lunch.
He does lot of exercise inside the house and out and I am anxious not to under or overfeed him. BTW we think he is probably about 5 and a half pounds.

Brody is almost 11 months old and he eats twice a day. Or I should say he is OFFERED food twice a day. Whether or not he eats it is another story.

I feed my Cesar three times a day and he is perfect weight.

If you want to feed him three times a day, just take his daily food amount and split it into thirds. I think twice is perfectly fine for his age and size. You can always offer a mid day snack. Carrots, yogurt, a chunk of chicken, something like that, if you want his tummy not to growl. That's what I do. Coop would eat 10 times a day if I let him. I do twice a day and sometimes a little something to keep them happy. You don't want him underweight but his daily intake should be the same whether you feed him once, twice or three times a day!!! Love him, he's so precious!!!
