Hey everyone
I mentioned in another post that Penny has been doing this coughing/hacking thing. The vet doesnt believe that she has kennel cough. He checked her for heart murmur, colapsed trachea, said her lungs sound clear, tested her for heart worms and did a fecal. She is eating fine, active and seems happy otherwise. Here is the video I took of her on Saturday. Any idea? Thanks.

Did he xray her to check for the collapsing trachea? It sounds similar to what Zoey does when she has an episode. The only way to truly diagnose it is get xrays on inspiration (breathing in) and expiration (breathing out) or by endoscopy of the trachea. It sounds deeper than a reverse sneezing, but I've heard reverse sneezes sound like that, but with collapsing tracheas it's more of a honking.

In the video it sounds like she has a bit of a honk going on there, it could well be a reverse sneeze, I would keep close tabs on her and see if it remains or gets worse.
My dog AJ reverse sneezes like greyhound in the last vid, he does not "honk" my oldest dog Pear does honk like crazy when he reverse sneezes & he is a Poodle.

Just a little more information. She started this on day 13 of having her. The vet says she is around 2 years old. He did not xray her yet....he did spend at least a minute or so palpatating her throat area and said it was completely normal? He didnt hear any congestion, rales or wheezing either?
edit again: She seems to do it in the morning and when excited
If she's been thoroughly checked I'd say it's reverse sneezing both mine do it frequently every day when they get excited or when is cold out they honk
