Question need help to make quick decision

Howdy guys! I have hem hawed around trying to decide what to put leila on, anyhoo she only has enough food left for today and tomorrow.
I really don't want to drive out to the place where i get fromm so i have decided to try Canidae. I can get that here in town. I have read their website and feel like it's a pretty good food. Now....this is my question. I am going to buy the grain free variety and they have two kinds..one has lots of diff. meats in it, chicken, turkey and lamb and it says all life stages and protein 34% fat 18%. Now they have another one that doesn't say all life stages, honestly i don't see why because the ingredients look the same to me except for the protein source..it's Grain free Salmon. Protein is 40% fat is 20%.
Which one should i go with?

Canidae is a decent product. I would NOT put her on the fish based one, but rather the all life stages one you mentioned. One thing that has always made me nervous about some canidae formulas is that ocean fish meal is is present, but the manufacturer website doesn't guarantee that this ingredient is free of ethoxyquin. Ethoxyquin is a chemical preservative, commonly used to preserve fish meal ingredients, and which is banned or heavily regulated in human food due to the belief that it is carcinogenic.

Hopefully she will eat it -- my picky eater looked me like I was wiggin' out on something when I tried to feed this to her when I first got her lol.

wiggin' out...
I just read that the salmon grain free is ok for all life stages. It says on their website and i quote "Naturally Preserved Herbal Formulation"
Now i didn't see where is says ethoxyquin free though. I will get the other one and i may call the company at some point and ask.

I think Stacia feeds this food and her doggies do great on it. It is what hubby fed Laurel before I came long (in great quantity...ha!).

Now you got me freakin out!! I'm in the same boat. I'm feeding THK but wanted a kibble to add between THK feedings, so I went to Tractor supply & stood there for 1/2 hour reading labels. The best one (I thought) was the Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream Canine Formula with Smoked Salmon (Grain-Free, all life-stages diet) processed with purified water. I read thru the ingrediants & really liked what I read until you mentioned ethoxyquin. I don't see it listed in the ingrediants so how do I know if they still used it? Should I call? So frustrating & nerve racking, always something to worry about.

O.K. Everything's cool! Just call the Taste of the Wild company & unless they're lying to me she said they don't use ethoxyquin. Their food is died naturally & there isn't any recalls on this food. I hope she's telling me the truth so I guess I'll have to take her word for it. Midgie's ate a few kibble & seems o.k. with it.

There has been a big campaign on various message boards asking people not to use TOTW, Artemis and a few other kibbles til 2011 because of the ethoxiquin in the foods currently. They don't have to list it as an ingredient--which is tricky and bad. Kibbles which currently do not contain it that I know of are Evo, Innova, Fromm...you can call the manufacturers but you're likely to get the run around.
